I made this bag as a reproduction of a 1940s US Mail Carriers bag. I found some drawings online from the original designs and sketched out what you see here. There is a middle divider with some additional pockets inside and a piece of 7/8 oz veg tan to add a little stiffness to the back. The bag and all straps are cut and sewn from Natural undyed Horween Essex tannage. This bag is glovey soft and does not stand up. Throw this one over your shoulder and show up anywhere carry-in the mail.
This is a prototype single pocket bag made from Horween Chromexcel Legacy in a light natural finish lined with calfskin. There is a back pocket inside for a laptop and a slash style pocket on the back outside as well as several on the front. This bag will patina like no other leather in the world.
